We watched L today and as we were getting ready to go pick up Carter, Marlee wanted him to 'be stylin' and put on some sunglasses. Then she thought we should all wear them and 'be stylin'. Yep, we're stylin!

Day 54 - Monday, February 23, 2009

I had 4 small moles removed at the doctor's office today. It was relatively painless - just a little uncomfortable. I'm not too sure I like the smell of burning flesh either.

Day 53 - Sunday, February 22, 2009

Yikes! We were getting ready for church and Drew found a mouse sitting at the top of the basement stairs. It was so scared it didn't even move or try to run when he captured it in a container. He let it out to fend for itself down the street as I couldn't handle doing you know what. It is so cold though =(

Day 52 - Saturday, February 21, 2009

We stopped at the library to get a book being held for me and checked out the dinosaur books (Matt is studying them right now in his class). It's just a tad disturbing that out of all the books (maybe 50?) there was one series (of 5) that only says that dinosaurs "lived a long time ago". All the rest say "millions of years ago". And then there was the "origin of man/ early beings" section right beside it. Don't get me started. I asked about finding any dinosaur books from a Christian perspective and she could only direct me to the dinosaur section in general. I guess she doesn't get that question very much. Marlee was interested in the mouse on one of the pages.

Made my favourite meal for dinner tonight - Beef Stroganoff and peas. Mmmmmm.

Day 50 - Thursday, February 19, 2009

I was missing a photo of our nativity set (Willow Tree from Sarah last Christmas) for a scrapbook layout I want to do, so I set it all up again. And took it back down again. Did I mention she gave me some new pieces this Christmas? YEY!!!

Day 49 - Wednesday, February 18, 2009

I went skiing today all by myself! With my new boots! I had a great time - I did 19 runs in the time I was there. I remember thinking that I am so blessed to be able to have an opportunity to do this! Thanks Drew! On a sad note, apparently within a 1/2 hour after I left, a boy was killed by runing into the woods. Life is precious and I am so thankful for it.

Day 48 - Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Both the kids fell asleep on the way to school to pick up the older guys. I didn't even realize until we got there and a woman commented on how cute they were! I agree! They haven't done this for months - and it most likely means they will be bears for bedtime!

Day 47 - Monday, February 16, 2009

Happy Family Day! We had a great day out at the farm skating, roasting marshmallows, resting and being with family. We had hoped to take a hike across the bay today but the skating won out. It will have to wait for another day. Otherwise - awesome family - awesome day!

Day 46 - Sunday, February 15, 2009

Goodbye old ski boots (20 year old hand-me-downs from Clark), I finally bought a new pair on Thursday. Funny thing? I forgot to bring them to skiing and had to rent some instead. Goodbye $24 too!

Valentines Day and a Pig Roast!

The kids had a blast with Valentines Day (thinking it was MUCH more than it really was - case in point: Matt freaking because he had to go to play practice ON VALENTINE'S DAY??? and "Why are there so many people out on Valentine's Day mommy? - asked Marlee while driving to the pig roast).

The kids, (Marlee in particular) were fascinated with the pig. All I could think about was Lord of the Flies. (But it was yummy - good job Clark!)

It was a PA Day from school so we took in a little painting creativity at Marlee's request.

(Gasp) the kids were ready before me for school and (GASP) we decided to drive since it was a MOPS day and lousy weather. They actully took my suggestion and sat at the front door reading while waiting for me!

In light of National Umbrella Day we got out our umbrellas! It's actually not raining in the photo but oh well - do you like the retro one? It is from my nan that I took from the cottage. It was actually raining this morning - freezing rain - Cierra's bus was cancelled so she got two days home in a row! Matt was jealous...

You can't read it well but it is about 6:10am. Way too early!!! I tried to be nice this morning and take Diva for her walk instead of Drew (and get a run in myself) - and she woke up 1/2 hour earlier than usual. She then proceeded to wake up Marlee who had a fit (and woke everyone else up) that I was going to go out!

[I did get out and it was a good run - just not the way we'd intended].

Why is it that daddy can get up early, take the dog for her walk, sneak back in when the kids are awake and yet still manage to fall back asleep on the couch - AND REMAIN UNDISTURBED???

Day 37 - Friday, February 6, 2009

The kids received a plastic ziplock bag from school yesterday to start their "Boomerang Waste" program today. The concept is to bring home any waste from their lunches so that the school is litter-free. Great idea overall but it's a shame it has to be done at all - we already find it quite easy to be litterless [More ramblings on this here].

Library day! Pretty bad when you've maxed out 3 cards - that's 105 books, CD's, DVD's and Videos! I look at it this way - it's not being purchased, it's not cluttering my house forever and the kids don't get tired of them! What's to lose?

Superbowl! [I'm not sure that everyone from the party wants to be on my blog so the party food gets the photo]. I wasn't involved (I got to take the kids skiing) but from what I could hear once we got back - a good time was had by all. Drew doesn't watch football (at all) but his big screen has given out invites for the past eight (?) years?
