Day 181 - 2010

It is the first day of summer holidays and Matt and Marlee have the driveway all set up to
watch ---??? I thought the hockey game was the other way but I could be wrong! They are always wanting to get everything out of the garage to play - and not always so keen to move it all back when going on to another activity. Is this the forecast for the summer?

Day 180 - 2010

She loves her "brudda" and I am so glad that she does. She is still more then willing to help out with him and is always looking for an opportunity to sit with him and hold him.

Day 179 - 2010

And then we had graduation at school today. Oh Marlee - what a year it has been. She wasn't always keen to go but was so much better this year since her younger friend was with her. She is more then happy that today marks graduation and is actually excited about next year being all day every day. Go figure! Regardless, she is ready to embrace the summer holidays!

Day 178 - 2010

We had kindergarten graduation at church today. Marlee gets to move up to the next class in September. She received a certificate and a new bible to commemorate the occasion. I can't believe how grown up she is looking!

Day 177 - 2010

We made some thank you treats for the teachers at school. I hope they enjoy these Mars Bar Squares. They will also get some gift certificates but we like to include a little something personal as well.

Day 176 - 2010

Day 175 - 2010

I was able to meet Matt at his field trip today. The kids were so excited to see Mitchell again - I left for a little bit though so they could focus (and he needed feeding). I just love how proud Matt gets when we are able to see him at school events. I love that I am able to participate.

Day 174 - 2010

Marlee brought home her kindergarten work folder today. She is so excited that there is only 1 day left. I am so excited to see what she has done. Her teacher makes a really nice scrapbook with a monthly entry and picture for all of her students. Matt had the same teacher for kindergarten a well so we are getting a really nice collection of their work.

Day 173 - 2010

Matt had a major wipeout in the parking lot today. He did amazingly well and just wanted a bandage and a photo to remember the event.

Day 172 - 2010

I bundled up some more things for Goodwill today. It feels so good to get this done - I just wish I had more time to get through more things. I'm loving the new "real estate".

Day 171 - 2010

We celebrated Father's Day and Mitchell's dedication today. Dad did the prayer of dedication for us. Mitchell wore the family christening gown worn now by 6 (?) generations (we believe it was my grandmother's grandfather's gown). The service followed with a cake reception for the three families participating in the dedication.

Day 170 - 2010

All I have to say is thank goodness the doors were closed! The kids get such a kick when they think that they are "getting me".

Day 169 - 2010

Roberta came to pick up Carter and we realized that we didn't have a photo of him with Mitchell. I don't think either of them cared too much!

Day 168 - 2010

Fresh strawberries straight from the patch. There is nothing better!

Day 167 - 2010

A few more attempts at a photo with all the kids - and Cierra was home this time!

Day 166 - 2010

I started working on some shots with all the kids for an upcoming surprise. You can never have too many pictures with all the kids can you?  It doesn't hurt that I need the practice too.

Day 165 - 2010

I'm getting some good use out of this "Little Star" sling. It took some getting used to but now Mitchell is actually preferring to walk to school in this rather then the stroller. It also helps that I have two from two different friends.

Day 164 - 2010

Using our new solar powered clothes dryer. Finally. We have had it for 2 years now and never used it.

Hey - the grass got cut! Amazing what a difference that can make!

Day 163 - 2010

Post garden - 1 bed down another to go. Umm the grass STILL needs work....

Day 162 - 2010

We got 5 baskets of clothes from Marlee's room to get rid of. She is rather proud of herself. I can't believe we had that much.

Day 161 - 2010

I am slowly working on the garden - yes it is June 10th, a little late but hopefully some produce will still grow. That is if I can get all the weeds and grass out.

Day 160 - 2010

Umm, our backyard lawn needs some work. Drew - can you work on that?

Day 159 - 2010

We finished a fun morning at GWL, had Wendy's for lunch and then got a gorgeous view of Niagara Falls. The kids were suitably impressed. I can't beleive how much more developed it is since I last saw it [15 years ago].

Day 158 - 2010

One of the days activities at Great Wolf Lodge was a rousing game of mini golf. I watched and nursed while everyone had a QUICK game!

Day 157 - 2010

Our first day at Great Wolf Lodge and the kids were very impressed. Poor Drew was on supervision as I sat behind with Mitchell.

Day 156 - 2010

Happy Birthday Theoren! We went to visit Sean, Sam and the kids for Theoren's birthday party today. Drew was again the primary parent for most of the day and had a great time on the trampoline. I wonder how long before we get one???

We had a VERY wet walk home from school. Surprisingly all the kids loved it and not everyone used the umbrellas I brought. I'm just glad it was warm.

Day 152 - 2010

Marlee's latest favourite snack is frozen corn - or as she calls it "cold corn". Straight out of the bag. Weird.
