Day 114 - 2010

We celebrated Sam's birthday at their house today after Matt's ball hockey game. We got her a gift inspired by Everybody Loves Money, an affiliation of the Flylady. It was the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid (one of Matt's favourites right now) with a message encoded inside directing her to find some additional cash. She was quite impressed.

I introduced Marlee to LittleMissMatched socks this past week. They are so her - and she loves them.

The card I made for Melanie's shower (her first - and she is the mom-to-be!) She received a bride's bag of essentials too.

The U2 concert rocked - seriously amazing, other then the man in front of us smoking up - I'd somehow forgotten it wouldn't quite be like the MW Smith concert I'd last seen. More info to come here.

Marlee and I spent the day shopping for her birthday gifts and doing some errands. Nothing better then some 1:1 time - making it her "bestest day ever"! We strolled through the mall - checking out the displays, trying things on...

Day 214 - Sunday, August 2, 2009

We had an exciting day at our friends cottage on Georgian Bay. The kids were particularly keen on checking out the loft in the cabin. After some initial help getting up the ladder they were all able to fend for themselves and every hour or so they "had" to go back to the cabin for some reason. It did give us some good ideas for a future cabin for our cottage! More info on our weekend here.

I attended a pampered chef bridal shower for my sister's friend who is getting married in a few weeks. She told me about how herself and 2 other couples get together every few weeks and are cooking their way alphabetically through the world. She's blogging about it here.
