Matt has been battling a cough and fever for the last few nights. A fever at night, gone all day. He is now on antibiotics. Note the trackpants - one of 4 pairs of pants he will currently wear. He blew the knee out on these a few weeks back and I finally got to sew them up this week when I forgot to do the load of laundry.
3 for 1 deal! I went to the doctor to have the mole on my left 5th toe and left missing it, along with the mole on the inner side as well as one on the bottom of my right 2nd toe. I was a tad nervous about this one as it was my toe - not very much skin there! Surprisingly it was not as bad as I thought!
We were greeted by Matt after school this way - I'll just say that he was a little warm compared to the morning. Again, he has had this thing for his gloves - and wanting to wear them all the time. I'm not too sure about the neck warmer and winter hat at 3:30pm other than to say that it was a lot colder in the morning.
This was the view outside out the bathroom window this morning. I was struck by the sun coming from behind the house and the dark clouds in the distance. Should be an interesting day!
Spent a fair bit of time today finishing up my 2 baby albums to donate to the silent auction fundraiser for SCS. A LOT more time involvement then I had thought (40 pages!) - but I love the results.
A grumpy greeting in the morning. We are working on staying in our own beds, or at the very least, the mattress on the floor now instead of our bed. It didn't work so well last night.
We had bible study tonight and because Drew was on call for a house deal, we took both cars. As usual, this means a "race" to get there. We always see what route seems to get us there the fastest (not by speeding of course). This time I won (this very rarely happens)!
Marlee, Levi and I spent some time outdoors enjoying the sunshine and warm weather and decided to do some litter pickup along the way to the park. Of course that took longer then expected (Marlee got quite involved and kept finding more and more), so we just quickly picnicked and then had to go get Carter. Amazing what people just throw away...
Marlee has been going into school all by herself for 2 weeks now! Yey Marlee! I don't know what brought on the change, but seeing how it is April, I'm quite glad.
He is Risen! Hard to pick just one photo for today - it was a great Easter and we all had a lot of fun. Even better that the sun was shining. The kids are sorting their eggs after the scavenger hunt and reading the resurrection story and sorting the clues for the final gift. More is said here.
"I think that there be a wolf!" Matty managed to get Marlee and Drew to play along and create a play of Little Red Riding Hood for us. It was hysterical! They alll took their roles very seriously! One day I'll post the video.
Had to add this one too - Cierra and I went to see the Hannah Montana movie. It was really quite enjoyable and I enjoyed the 1:1 time with her.
Happy Good Friday. Is that right? It was a good day and without this day we couldn't celebrate Easter Sunday. After church and a run I (for some reason) decided to tackle the dust on top of the kitchen cupboards. Gross! It took a vacuum, a spray and some good elbow grease but now they are clean. I know I haven't done them in the 4 years we've lived here. I've added them to my zone cleaning now though.
Marlee on her way to get some Chinese food with Melissa - never mind that I had a perfectly good meal prepared. Oh well. Like the socks? (And note - it is warmer out - Yeh!)
Drew and I enjoyed a lunch date today! We got McDonald's and went to the adidas family and friends sale. I got 2 pairs of new running shoes ($36 each!) and some socks and running capris. We also got clothing for each of the kids for Easter. Great deals! Thanks Mel!
The bedtime teeth brushing ritual. Always a favourite especially because we are so much more diligent since the surgery incidents! Why is it they always want to talk when it is time to brush?
Yep that's me - Palm Sunday dancing! Not exactly my forte but we got very encouraging reviews. Hard to believe it was 9 years ago since I did it - and that I agreed to do it again. The kids got a kick out of it!
Earlier in the week I saw the first blooming flowers and then this morning we awoke to snow. Again. This picture is from late in the afternoon and most of the snow had already melted. This means that this year we have had snow every month since November. 6 months! Enough already!
We were offered a free condo stay for the night (from a friend who couldn't use it) so we and Drew's side of the family enjoyed a stay away from home. The kids were exhausted from exploring, a long swim, pizza dinner and extra tv while Melissa, Drew and I had dinner out. Thanks nana and poppa! This is how we found the kids when we got back.
My very last issue of Simple Scrapbooks arrived in the mail today. I will truly miss it as it had a lot to do with how my personal style has evolved over the years. Many a scraplift was done from this magazine.
The clouds today were amazing. The picture doesn't do it justice but I was fascinated by the colours and the way the darkness was on one side and the sun was just trying to peep out. It was lovely and warm after school today so we played at the park for an hour.
I am a SAHM striving to balance motherhood, child care providing, volunteering, hobbies and more with being the person God intends for me to be. I have a terrible memory and like to scrapbook so for me this blog ia a place to record those details. So know that I may just add in details and adjust them chronologically. That's just me!
