It was Terry Fox Day at school so we all wore our shirts to support the event. Mitchell was not that cooperative for the photo as you can see. Thanks again Adidas for the shirts!
Our 'bubs" on our way to school. A day doesn't go by that Mitchell doesn't get at least 3 or 4 "Awww"; or "Look at that hat!"; or "What a cute baby!". We agree with all of the above.
These are the books on my nightstand/coffee table/bathroom shelf right now. We've had 2 good days and nights in a row of sleep and the food ones are just for recipes so I hope I can retire this pile for some more "entertaining" reading soon.
With the new development down the street there has been a lot of truck traffic. This kids try to get them all to honk their horns. Quite a few comply and seem to get a kick out of the kids.
Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner and brought some "Frogmore Stew". It is a combination of corn on the cob, Italian sausage, shrimp and potatoes.
We picked out Marlee's glasses today. There were so many to choose from - it's amazing how far we've come in style and choice. She is really happy with them and that is what counts. We should be able to pick them up in about a week.
Everyone showed up to watch Matt play his first Ice Hockey game. He was a little shaky at first but once he got his bearings he had a great time - go Matt!
Mitchell loves playing in the sand. We just have to watch that his older sister doesn't put it close enough for him to eat it! It is so nice to have some warm days to enjoy it again!
One of the streets on the way to school is lined with oak trees. Only a few of them have acorns and the kids are constantly racing to try and find ones that have fallen - especially those with their caps on. I won't let them pick them and they are not impressed.
Matt was so happy to purchase (with his own money) this Storm Trooper helmet. He is on the hunt for an AnakinSkywalker costume for Halloween this year and we will look for a storm trooper costume for dress-up when the sales are on.
We all came out to the farm for dinner so that the kids could join Samantha for a sleepover in the bunky. Earlier in the day Marlee had her "birthday shop" with Ya-Ya and Nana.
The girls are growing up so fast. Marlee wants a new suitcase with a "backpack" for her birthday because a few of her friends have one. Note the "purse" on her arm and the rolled up jeans - oh and the attitude.
A part of me is sad that these clothes are all going - a sign of Marlee growing up. On the other hand? Valuable real estate is being gained in our basement and her room (although it is quickly being taken over by Mitchell's 1st year clothing!)
Today was Carter's last full time day with us - well sort of. He starts all day every day JK at his school next week so we will only see him on PA days and in the summers. He started coming in 2006!
I am a SAHM striving to balance motherhood, child care providing, volunteering, hobbies and more with being the person God intends for me to be. I have a terrible memory and like to scrapbook so for me this blog ia a place to record those details. So know that I may just add in details and adjust them chronologically. That's just me!
