The kids were fortunate to get some welcome baby brother gifts as well and this one kept them entertained quite nicely with Nana Jan who came in to help with the kids for the day (and days to come!)
While we were eating lunch today we heard a strange crash. No, it turns out it wasn't the result of Drew's handiwork but I believe a faulty clasp on the wire holder. Amazingly the glass didn't break - I hope IKEA will give me a new frame!
Marlee is totally into TROUBLE - when she can't get one of us to play she'll even play a few people all at once. She seems to think she gets more 6's when she uses her feet. I'm not sure if that is a proven fact though.
Drew finally got around to putting up my Year-in-review photos. Shortly into the project he realized his measurements were a bit off - but he was able to rectify the problem...
Marlee originally didn't want to come outside to enjoy ANOTHER day of amazing temperatures but when I showed her we could move the picnic table so she could still do her crafts... well, she changed her mind. She does love her crafts.
Eager to be rid of the last bit of snow, the boys took to chopping it off the lawn. With temperatures like today (17 degrees) it won't last long anyway!
We had a bit of a reunion at Kim and Kerry's tonight - and took on some Wii dance program. It was actually a lot of fun and some good exercise. Go Drew Go!
Matthew is sharing some funny parts of the latest Wimpy Kid book he's reading with Drew and I. He got up at 6am yesterday and read most of it before school. He can't wait for the movie to come out next week. I love it although it can also be a huge distraction for him (wonder where he gets that from???)
I spent a majority of the day working on a display case with another parent (Lori) at the kid's school while volunteering. I was in Marlee's class in the morning and then finished up the letters while doing safe arrival. It is a collection of their work from a Creative Clay workshop presented by the local art gallery. We got quite a few compliments!
I was on snacks for MOPS today and I made Pillsbury Cinnamon Buns. They didn't quite work out properly. I was running out of time and had to get the kids to school and turned the oven off earlier then they were done. I had hoped they would finish in the heat but not quite so. Now I know to budget my time better! They were still okay just not quite what they should be....
We began our 7 hour car trip to Tremblant today. Marlee has become quite adept at making herself comfortable and ready to go. She was the first one ready this morning - and look - drink + music + pillow = comfort!
I really enjoyed attending Matt's field trip to do mapping skills today at the nearby conservation park. We had a blast although it was a lot more trudging through snow then I anticipated. I definitly got my exercise today. I love that as a SAHM I can do this.
We are still celebrating Canada and the olympics with a few decorations (the flags have become toys and didn't stay in the pots for long). It has made me think that it is time for the Christmas lights to come down though - we seem to be the only house with them still lit (even though we did "say" that the red ones were for Valentine's Day)
I don't know what it is but our counter is a magnet for the kids. Technically not safe but I have given up on the issue. Not a battle I'm choosing to fight.
I am a SAHM striving to balance motherhood, child care providing, volunteering, hobbies and more with being the person God intends for me to be. I have a terrible memory and like to scrapbook so for me this blog ia a place to record those details. So know that I may just add in details and adjust them chronologically. That's just me!
