With my parents away, I went over to help with an energy audit that they had scheduled. The kids were fascinated with the big fan that sucks all the air out. The man was really good about explaining stuff to the kids.

We had a few extra kids today so we took in T Park. The older guys enjoyed doing tricks under the pavillion. Matt was impressed by the "spin-outs".

We made it home in time for Matt to go to his last day of school - where he won one of the 2 RAPIDS awards for his class. It is quite an honour - YEY MATT!

Day 157 - Saturday, June 6, 2009

My last big event came to a close. We were in a great spot so we did lots of face painting, balloon giveaways and a few dance performances. We ended up with great weather, a good number of volunteers and even better, the promise of a co-ordinator for next year!

So how does this happen? The houses on either side of us are up for sale. It makes me wonder if we are good neighbours? The one family has 2 young kids and the kids enjoy playing together. The other family are probably in their 50's without kids. It it will be sad to see these families go. We were looking forward to having the kids go to school together.

I attended a seminar tonight put on by the city on preparing an emergency kit. There were only 5 of us in attendance but I learned a lot. It's also one of my 101 things to do...

Day 108 - Saturday, April 18, 2009

We had bible study tonight and because Drew was on call for a house deal, we took both cars. As usual, this means a "race" to get there. We always see what route seems to get us there the fastest (not by speeding of course). This time I won (this very rarely happens)!

Day 84 - Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Marlee had a tough day at school with me volunteering today (several tears, not wanting to say goodbye) so we had a girls night out to the camp fair. It was a little smaller this year compared to last year and not much for our age group but still glad we went - if not just to spend some time together.
