Day 348 - 2010

Mitchell seems to be liking carrots the most at the moment. This whole foods/ baby led weaning is still going strong. Messy and strong.

TIme to share a little mealtime banter.

Day 344 - 2010

Mitchell has been really getting into his food lately. I'm liking this baby-led weaning process other than the fact that there is more waste. He is doing so well with managing new foods and not choking. He usually chews and then spits it back out. There isn't a whole lot of ingestion but he is "getting" the whole process. I'm totally impressed.

Day 315 - 2010

Marlee and I went out for her lunch break at school. She of course picked MacDonald's for her 1:1 time with me. It was really nice to get out together and I hope to do this with each of them every other month.

I picked up 4 frozen chicken and 2 dozen farm fresh eggs yesterday! I am cooking up a roast chicken for dinner tonight!

Day 309 - 2010

Matt and I had a doctor's appointment today so we decided to have lunch out at Burger King before heading back to school. Our lesson for the day is that $3 kraft dinner is not really worth it for the following reasons:
1. $3???
2. Especially if it falls on the floor (thankfully they replaced it for us)
or
3. If you are too distracted to even eat it anyway!

Day 305 - 2010

Mitchell tried baby mum mums today. I think we have a winner.

Day 285 - 2010

Mitchell is beginning to REALLY get into his food. I can't say that I enjoy this aspect - but what are you to do when he keeps grabbing the spoon JUST as you get it to his mouth? Or he then spits just enough out to rub all around? Regardless, the other kids are getting a huge kick out of this phase. Yes, it is JUST a phase right?

Day 257 - 2010

Mitchell's first taste of solid food - carrots. He loved them. (1.5 week shy of 6 months)

Day 197 - 2010

Just Marlee, Mitchell and me. Taking in a little McD's and a new park.

Day 143 - 2010

The great coke taste challenge took place this evening. Vanilla coke, coke and cherry coke were all tested (and Matt got his first taste of pop). I believe that vanilla coke was chosen the favourite.

Day 118 - 2010

The boys and their serious morning discussion over breakfast. Matthew is ready and waiting to wake daddy up every morning so that they can eat their cereal together.

Day 107 - 2010

We were a little late in getting out of the house but we made it out to the lunch sitting (pancakes and sausages) at the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival. It was well worth the wait - and the company was pretty good too =)

Day 105 - 2010

Evidence of blue ring pops!

Day 66 - 2010

We each had to have another Beaver Tail (our second of the weekend) before we left - even though they were $5 each! Scrumptious!

Day 65 - 2010

Marlee demonstrating how to eat a strawberry (her pick with Turtle ice cream and cones). That's our Marlee!

Day 31 - 2010

For the second week in a row we let the kids "con" us into MacDonald's for lunch after church and the library. Not a good habit to be developing but I have to admit I do enjoy it too.

Day 353 - Saturday, December 19, 2009

Marlee helped me make apple crisp for my staff dinner later tonight and also for OOTC next week.

Day 330 - Thursday, November 26, 2009

We enjoyed our special treats from down south for breakfast and lunch today. Ya-ya just got back from Virginia Beach and always brings us things we can't get here.

Day 308 - Wednesday, November 4, 2009

The picnic theme continues. This time they have moved to the dirty garage floor, with the chalk drawings and the pylons. What will they think of next?

Day 302 - Thursday, October 29, 2009

It was a little cool outside for my taste but the kids wanted a picnic for lunch.
PS - Marlee had a pyjama day btw.
